The East Hill Complex

The arrows in this view of the martian surface identify hills on the martian horizon to the east of the lander that scientists can easily find with orbiters Mars Global Surveyor and Mars Odyssey. The image was taken by the panoramic camera on the Mars Exploration Rover Spirit. The labels listed above the hills correspond with the ones on the overhead map of the area. Airbags on the lander can be seen at the bottom of the photo.
